On Tuesday 12th February I was delighted to attend the 2nd Anniversary of 'Hub Dot', http://www.hubdot.com the amazing organisation set up Simona Barbieri to revolutionise the way that women connect, through storytelling. This was truly an inspirational evening - as well as having the opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, and women from all walks of life, I was enthralled by the stories of a collection of individuals. these included a woman who, from being in a concentration camp as a child, had now finally taken up her dream of becoming a stand up comic!
I am thrilled to be able to announce that myself and two fellow female flamenco guitarists ('Las Nenas') will be playing a small set of flamenco guitar music at the 'Art of YOU' event on Monday 16th March. Very exciting!
A few days later I travelled to meet the great husband and wife team behind 'Greenock', the adventure events company - Joe and Laura Mearns. We shared our passions and reasons behind becoming involved in organising challenge events as we look to work together more. Laura shared her story about how she wrote the book 'Himalaya by Bike' in 2008. This came as the result of spending three years cycling solo around the Himalayas. the book is a real gem, covering everything you would see, and need to know covering the best biking routes in High Asia from Pakistan's Karakoram Highway in the west to Bhutan's many passes in the east. In these days of reality programmes featuring people taking on 'wild' challenges, I truly commend Laura for her bravery in undertaking this inspirational solo adventure.
