Thursday saw a gallery dinner at the wonderful Heike Moras gallery where I organised a dinner for the artists and curators of the 'Figuaratively Speaking' exhibition, http://heikemoras.com
These are lovely, small events where I work with a chef to produce some bespoke menus. On the table this time were - a velvety spiced cauliflower soup with homebaked rolls. Then for mains, quince stuffed with lamb with coriander and pomegranate with basmati rice, chickpeas and crispy fried onions and winter slaw. This was served with some lovely side salads of roasted beetroot, leek and walnuts; caramelised fig, orange, feta salad with rocket and some fantastic roasted aubergine, pomegranate, saffron and yoghurt dressing. All rounded off with an indulgent bitter chocolate, coffee and cardamom truffle cake with crème fraiche. Happy artists all round! The pictures really don't do it justice, I must take my good camera next time!
